Alex has a wide experience of working in theatre from lighting, stage, performer flying and flys. Alex started his professional lighting career in the theatre industry, initially volunteering in a small local theatre in 2013, to then starting to work shows at the Octagon Theatre, Yeovil. From there his theatre experience grew from working in theatres across the country from small tours to Technical Load ins or Designing, programming and operating shows.

Alex has a strong knowledge of theatrical terminology, operations and has the creativity and problem solving skills to wrok well in a theatre. In his time in theatre he has used multiple consoles to program and operate shows these include but not limited to Avolites and ETC Eos.

Part of Alex’s theatre work includes Performer Flying. Operating shows along with clipping up, spotting, harness inspection and basic set up and maintenance knowledge of this systems.

Alex still keeps his hand in working on the stage end as a technician, working with scenery and sets, touring lighting teams and working on the fit up teams.

Alex works with Re:Act theatre school providing Lighting Design, programming and other technical aspects for all of their shows including musicals, dance, plays and pantomimes.
